Peabody High School, located at 515 North Highland Avenue in the East Liberty neighborhood of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, was a public high school within the Pittsburgh Public Schools district. It served as an educational institution for grades 9 through 12. Founded in the early 20th century, Peabody High School was named after philanthropist George Peabody. The school offered a range of academic courses, extracurricular activities, and sports programs for its students. In 2011, due to declining enrollment and district reorganization, Peabody High School was closed. The building was later repurposed for Pittsburgh Obama 6-12, a school with an International Baccalaureate (IB) program. The facility continues to serve students in the community under this new purpose, carrying on its legacy of providing education to the area’s youth.
