Samuel J. Tilden High School, located at 5800 Tilden Avenue in Brooklyn, New York, was established in 1930 and named after Samuel J. Tilden, a former governor of New York and the Democratic candidate in the disputed 1876 presidential election. The school served the East Flatbush community for many decades, offering a variety of academic and extracurricular programs. Due to declining enrollment and various educational reforms, the original high school was phased out and closed in 2010. The building now houses several smaller schools and educational programs that continue to serve the diverse community in Brooklyn.
